How to convert yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss into mm-dd-yyyy hh:mi:ss in Oracle?

I have a varchar column and I want to convert yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss into
mm-dd-yyyy hh:mi:ss and cast it into a date. How can it be done?
